THE HISTORY Frozen in the ice for over 65 million years, 23 dinosaur eggs were discovered in Antarctica by a group of explorers. Understanding the enormous risk and the potential significance of this discovery, the group decided not to share what they had found with the rest of the world. They figured, it would be better to hide the eggs and agree to never talk about it again. but, life will find a way”… Upon returning home, one of the explorers disappeared and after 5 years he was presumed dead. In reality, he had returned to the location where the eggs were hidden and brought them back to his secret lab. It was there, hidden away for over 3 years, that geneticist Albert Rexman was able to hatch his first dinosaur. After being frozen for so long however, hatching was difficult and required just the right levels of pressure and radiation. THE ORIGINALS T Rex Carnotaurus Triceratops Velociraptor Stegosaurus Spinosaurus Therizinosaurus Parasaurolophus Pterodactyl Ankylosaurus Previous image Next image THE HYBRIDS Isolated in his lab with his dinosaur creations, Albert couldn’t help but experiment further. His interest grew to obsession as he began to manipulate the DNA of each dinosaur to create hybrid varieties the world has never seen. Each of the 10 Originals ultimately ended up creating 20,000 hybrids! The new dinosaurs ranged incredibly in features and strengths. For some, their varied features made them stronger in either attack or defense and others became weaker than the Originals. Albert created a scoring system to better understand how different features could help a dinosaur both in terms of attack and defense. FEATURES & POWERS Realizing that some dinosaurs are stronger in terms of defense and others are stronger with attack, Albert began by defining the base level for each for the Originals. The power, defense, and attack levels of each hybrid were then inherited by each of the hatched offspring and each trait gave the dinosaur different levels of power. Here are power levels of each Original and their inheritable traits. Power = 50 Power = 50 Power = 45 Power = 36 Power = 42 Power = 35 Power = 28 Power = 24 Power = 14 Power = 8 Previous image Next image DINO SCORING For example, let’s look at the features of a Velociraptor. Because the Velociraptor is a carnivore it is naturally stronger with attacks, so its Attack strength is an 8 out of 10. For Defense, however, it is considered a 4, because it is a smaller dinosaur and instead of the rigid spikes, plates, and horns that we see with herbivores it has simple feathers. Power = 32 Each of these features contributes to the overall attack and defense strength of the Velociraptor, so they are represented here in percentages out of 100% For some traits like the horns or the eye hoods on this Velociraptor, it’s possible to get the feature on only one side. In this case, these are represented as rarity 5.1 and 5.2. Now let’s look at how these traits can affect one of the dinosaur hybrids. We can tell by the color that the dinosaur comes from the Carnotaurus family, meaning it comes with a base attack score of 9 and a defense of 4. These scores can be influenced by the overall attack and defense characteristics of the dinosaurs features, but for this hybrid, they weren’t enough to increase or decrease the Attack / Defense scores. This hybrid has features from T Rex, Therizinosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Parasaurolophus, and Stegosaurus, with only the body coming from the Carnotaurus. This will give the dinosaur a lower level of purity than possibly other Carnotaurus hybrids. Power = 35 The scores for each feature are adjusted based on the dinosaur it comes from, so the Therizinosaurus front claws, for example, are adjusted from their 35% attack and defense on that animal to contribute here 21% and 24.5% respectively. Every hybrid is unique, of course, but in this case the dinosaur is weaker than the original Carnotaurus, specifically it is a 35 instead of a 36. Help Albert hatch and test his dinosaurs!
